A difficult employee issue? Get advice before you act

Fast, practical, legally sound guidance on live employee issues.

What counts as an employee issue?

Conduct concerns, underperformance, absenteeism, grievances, disputes over pay or hours: employee issues rarely arrive at a convenient time, and the first move matters. Getting advice before you act protects both the business and the outcome.

Common situations we help with

  • Conduct and behaviour concerns
  • Underperformance that hasn't been formally addressed yet
  • Absenteeism and unexplained leave
  • Personal grievances and employment disputes

Why get advice early

A fair, well-documented process protects you if a matter is ever challenged. We'll help you work out what stage you're at, what a fair process looks like from here, and what to say to the employee, before anything is put in writing.

Facilitated conversations

Sometimes the fastest way through an issue is a properly run conversation, not a formal process. One of our ER specialists can facilitate that conversation on your behalf as the employer, keeping it constructive and moving toward a resolution.

This is different from workplace mediation. Here, we're acting for you. If you want a neutral third party who doesn't act for either side, see Workplace Mediation instead.
